Starting in the late 70 `s Giora Feidman has played his way irrevocably into the hearts
of his audience. His phenomenal rise began with Peter Zadek's sensationally
successful Berlin production of 'Ghetto', in which Feidman's unique clarinet
style played a key role. Since then, a schedule of over 100 concerts a year
(including the prestigious Festivals all over the world), galas, television
appearances and features have elevated Feldrnan to his undisputed position as
the 'King of Klezmer'. For Feidman, Klezmer is a way of interpreting art and
life. Klezmer is not only rich Jewish folklore, but a cosmopolitan
playing style in which diverging musical genres can be united under one roof
while retaining an unmistakable sound.
It was his ability to combine technical virtuosity with emotional intensity that led
Steven Spielberg to invite Feidman to lend his clarinet the Oscar Award winning
film, 'Schindler's List'.
